Taste The Island @ Rathlin Island
A celebration of the produce and heritage of Northern Ireland's largest and only populated island.
The Event
On Saturday 3rd May we had our "Raghery" Slemish Market Supper Club dining experience on Rathlin Island with Basalt Distillery Rock Gin. Fabulous weather, food, gin and craic was had by all in the Branson Centre.
To start our Raghery dining experience James Richardson from Basalt Distillery served Basalt Rock gin, tonic & dried orange ( a fabulous gin with background notes of kelp, seabuckthorn and cubeb pepper ) on the beach whilst Rathlin Seabites Ksenia Zywczuk showcased all the wonderful seaweed from Kelp, Sugar Kelp, Pepper Dulse, Sea spaghetti and sea herbs that were used in the menu. Before we went inside the Branson Centre to dine on Rathlin's finest bounty.
It's a huge privilege to use the produce from this island; the seaweed from Rathlin Sea bites Ksenia Zywczuk, crabs & lobster from Benji McFaul as well as the rest of our amazing producers.
Many thanks to everyone who dined with us, Basalt Distillery owner James, Ksenia and everyone who helped us on Raghery, the magical Island off the North Antrim Coast. Rathlin at its finest.
